Hair Extensions

Davines salon

At the Stillwater Hairdressers, we specialize in several different types of hair extensions to accommodate your desired fullness or length. To be more cost effective and affordable to our clients, all of the hair extensions used at the Hairdressers can be put in and tightened multiple times.

The types of hair extensions The Hairdressers offer are Bonded (Beaded), Tape-In, and Braided.

Bonded Hair Extensions
The application of beaded extensions is where the extensions are attached with a small silicon coated copper cylinder. With this method, the client’s hair extensions are maintained every 5-8 weeks. Maintenance involves pushing up the hair extensions so that they will not damage the natural hair. This is done until the client feels that their hair needs to be replaced. For this method, we use the Twisted Fringe brand of extensions.

Tape-in Hair Extensions
They are applied using either double or single-sided polyurethane tape.  With double-sided tape, the weft is applied to the hair after the backing has been removed from one side.  The weft and the attached hair are pulled upwards, and another weft is applied to the other side of the tape to “sandwich” the hair.  Clients with extremely thin hair, especially around the temples and side of the head, may require a single panel applied with single-sided tape. We use Easy Length extensions for this method.

Braided Hair Extensions.
Commonly known as a weave, sew-in or braided extensions are ideal for coarse, curly or thick hair.  The client’s hair is braided from ear to ear to create a base for the extensions, and then the wefts are sewn into the braids using a needle and thread.

Hair Extension costs vary based on the look you are hoping to achieve (length, fullness, texture, color, etc.) We require a complementary consultation in which we will determine the hair extension type and cost needed to create your new look and to best suit your hair type. The service of putting hair extensions in starts at $65/hour.
